In this video and guide, I'll be showing you what I found to be the best routes for farming Obsidium Ore & Cinderbloom in Mount Hyjal and what you can expect to farm up gold/ore/herb wise per hour. This will show you how to optimize your time in Mount Hyjal by choosing a route that fits your situation with the amount of competition you have on your server. Cata Mining/Herb Gold Making Guide: Mount Hyjal - Best Routes | Getting Started/Farming

To get started, you'll need to have 425 Mining & Herbalism or 420 with the Gatherer enchant and be atleast level 80 with Azeroth flying/flying mount or form. You'll also want to download the addon, gatherer and its data; if you want the nodes already marked although I prefer a clean slate and like to make my own personally. Then, get a few Mining & Herb bags and make sure you have one regular bag to collect all your gems or items from killing mobs and that there mostly empty. Lastly, be repaired, have some food/water, blare some music, and have fun!

• To get started, you'll need to have 425 Herbalism and Mining or 420 with the glove +5 gatherer enchant and be atleast level 80 with Azeroth flying & a flying mount or form. You'll also want to download the addon, gatherer. Then, get a few Herbalism and Mining bags if you plan to do this for hours on end. Also, make sure you have one regular bag that's empty to collect anything you get from killing mobs or for gems. Next, make sure you're tracking herbs and mining and the mini-map is zoomed all the way out. Lastly, be repaired, have some food/water, blare some music, and have fun!
• To get to Mount Hyjal just take the port in your faction's major city. Once in Hyjal, fly straight down and begin on the route I have laid out. I'll be spending 30 minutes on this route to give you a general idea of what you can expect to farm up with your flower picking and Mining. The route I'll be using in this video is my medium route for this zone which will cover both herbs and ore nodes. Since I'm only level 82, I do have to fight mobs from time to time. It's not too bad but an 85 should be able to do much better running the same route. Twenty seconds here, twenty seconds there for killing mobs really adds up. Luckily for herbs I don't need to fight anything since I can just pick em without changing out of flight form. Regardless of level, always loot the herb or mining node first before killing any add. This goes for any opposing faction player trying to get the node too. CC them, get the node and then kill them. That way even if you die, you get something out of it.

• This second one is the smallest and awesome when you have zero competition. Respawns happen almost perfectly as you reach the next node.

  

• This last one is a great medium. It's not too long but long enough to help with excessive competition. I typically use my small route to start and extend it if I'm not finding ore like I should be. I used the middle one for this video and guide.

• Alright, so after 30 minutes I was able to farm up a decent amount of ore and herbs. I'll list everything on the Auction House for 12 hours undercutting any competition. Ore and Herbs will go up in full stacks, Volatiles in singles and tens, and gems in singles. After a few hours everything sold for a grand total of 1,148g or 2,296g per hour by farming Mount Hyjal for ore.

  Obsidium Ore x 105 = 367.5g (3.5g each)
  Volatile Earth x 2 = 25g (12.5g each)
  Amberjewel x 1 = 15g
  Zephyrite x 1 = 9g
  
  -Herbalism-
  Cinderbloom x 116 = 464g (4g each)
  Stormvine x 12 = 51.6g (4.3g each)
  Volatile Life x 40 = 216g (5.4g each)
  ------------------------------------
  Total = 1,148g in 30 minutes
  or 2,296g in one hour.

• To see how your server would do, plug in the prices from your Auction House. These numbers aren't bad but expect much better results if you're farming during off peak hours and are level 85.
• The best classes to use for farming herbs and ore are Paladin and Druid. DK's with the movement talent are good as well. It's also ideal to have 310% flying so if you don't have it, save up some of the gold you make and buy it. It's well worth it. If you have any questions, ask away in the comments.
