In this video and guide, I'll be showing you what I found to be the best routes for farming Obsidium Ore in Mount Hyjal and what you can expect to farm up gold/ore wise per hour. This will show you how to optimize your time in Mount Hyjal by choosing a route that fits your situation with the amount of competition you have on your server. Mining can be very competitive so it's always good to know how you can bank even with the high competition. Mining truly is a great gold making profession. WoW Mining Gold Making Guide: Mount Hyjal - Best Routes | Getting Started/Farming

To get started, you'll need to have 425 Mining and be atleast level 80 with Azeroth flying/flying mount. You'll also want to download the addon, gatherer and its data; if you want the nodes already marked. I like to make my own personally. Then, get a few Mining bags and make sure you have one regular bag to collect all your gems or items from killing mobs and that there mostly empty. Lastly, be repaired, have some food/water, blare some music, and have fun!

• To get to Mount Hyjal just take the port in your faction's major city. Once in Hyjal, fly straight down to begin on the route I have laid out. I'll be spending 30 minutes on this route to give you a general idea of what you can expect to mine up. This route is fairly simple and easy to follow. You'll notice I'm only level 81 so I have a few handicaps but I do get a nice 5774 experience from each node. Unlike an 85 though, I will pull mobs frequently so any 85 doing this run will get more ore, faster in the same amount of time. Regardless of level, make sure you CC any mob you pull first then loot the node. This goes for any opposing faction player trying to get the node too. CC them, get your ore and run if they're much higher than you. Feel free to call me a noob for not having my Cyclone hot-keyed. I kept telling myself to do it but took me three zones (I think you'll see the change in Uldum or Deepholm vids.) to actually change it. Yeah, I'm a nub, what.
• Mount Hyjal has three different Mining routes that I've made up. Of course, you can always be creative and make up your own. This first one is the longest and covers just about every possible node spawn.

  

• This second one is the smallest and awesome when you have zero competition. Respawns happen almost perfectly as you reach the next node.

  

• This last one is a great medium. It's not too long but long enough to help with excessive competition. I typically use my small route to start and extend it if I'm not finding ore like I should be. I used the middle one for this video and guide.

• Alright, so after 30 minutes I was able to farm up 8 stacks of Obsidium Ore, 8 Volatile Earths, and some rare and uncommon gems. I'll list it all on the Auction House for 12 hours undercutting any competition. After a few hours everything sold for a grand total of 527g or 1,054g per hour by farming Mount Hyjal for ore.

  Detailed List of Items from Mining:
  Obsidium Ore x 8 stacks = 344g(43g/stack)
  Volatile Earth x 8 = 72g (9g each)
  Amberjewel x 1 = 10g
  Demonseye x 1 = 38g
  Alicite x 2 = 20g
  Nightstone x 1 = 15g
  Carnelian x 1 = 16g
  Jasper x 1 = 12g
  ------------------------------------
  Total = 527g in 30 minutes
  or 1,054 in one hour.

• To see how your server would do, plug in the prices from your Auction House. These numbers aren't bad but expect much better results if you're 85 and don't have to deal with mobs or if you're farming during off peak hours.
• The best classes to use for farming are Paladin and Druid. Deathknights can be good too if spec'd with the 20% mount speed buff. Herbalism or Engineering are the best professions to go with Mining. It's also ideal to have 310% flying. If you have any questions, ask away in the comments.
